Butcombe and Blagdon Youthwork Trust

A project to support existing youth work in our villages.

Over four hundred children live in the villages of Butcombe and Blagdon.

The Butcombe and Blagdon Youthwork Trust has been formed to attract additional volunteers and to recruit paid workers to help start new activities and support and expand the existing work with children and young people.

This Children’s/Youthworker will help to support and expand the work of J Team, Messy Play Club and BYG as well as the existing children’s work in Butcombe.

Our priorities
  • In Butcombe our first priority is to encourage the work with younger children and their mums.
  • In Blagdon there are already a number of children’s and youth activities going on. Our first priority is to reinforce the existing work with additional skills and manpower.
  • BYG. The recruitment of the proposed new workers will add vitally needed resource. This will allow the existing BYG workers to form a new group for young people aged 15 +…
  • For both villages we believe that there is a growing need to support the Transition Years age group – that is children aged 8-14 as they move from primary to secondary education.
