Blagdon Good Companions

A social club for the young at heart, which meets regularly giving members to catch up with each other, or to enjoy the entertainment laid on.

teapot-and-tea-cupThere is a varied speaker programme including quizzes, competitions and entertainment supplied by the WI. When there are special speakers the meeting is open to all.
There are three outings a year – a half day in spring and autumn and a full day out in the summer. There is also a christmas lunch, carol service, tea party and regular coffee morning every October to help raise funds.

Eligibility: Over 60′s male or female
Number: no maximum
Fees: Annual subscription fee of £5 payable in January each year. £1 per meeting to cover the cost of refreshments and room hire

New members are welcome to just drop in or can be brought along by current members.

Even if you can no longer take part in meetings due to illness or change of location, members are remembered and kept in contact with.

There is a minibus pick up service for those who need help getting to meetings, that covers the village.

There are no meetings in August.


A small committee meets informally two to three times a year to discuss the programme, outings etc, usually on a Friday from 2.30-4pm.
