What is FILMCLUB?
FILMCLUB is a charity founded to make a wide range of films available to young people which challenge, unite, educate, amaze and inspire. Your child will have the opportunity to explore the wonderful world of film and use the official FILMCLUB websitewww.filmclub.org to search for the films they want to watch, submit reviews and enter exciting competitions!
Where and when does FILMCLUB meet?
Blagdon’s FILMCLUB will meet on the first Friday of every month in the School Hall from 3pm to 5pm (end time may vary depending on the film). All ages of children are welcome. Volunteers from the PTA (with CRB vetting) will supervise so parents need only pick up at the end, though you’re welcome to watch as well. We’re asking for a nominal fee of £3.50 per child for refreshments and to make a small contribution to PTA funds for school projects.
We will only show films that are suitable for your children’s age, selecting from the ‘U’ or ‘PG’ classifications. We will always advertise the film in advance and explain any sensitive content so you can make a choice about what your children should see.
How does my child join?
Please read, complete and sign the attached consent form and attendance form for the first film. If your child can’t make the first film but would like to come to future showings, you must complete the consent form. All forms to be returned to the school office asap. Please let us know any problems or reasons you can’t sign up and we will do our best to help
Signed up members will be given instructions on how to log on to the FilmClub website to leave reviews or see additional material. Younger members should of course be supervised for this as appropriate.
