(The well prepared Blagdonian usually has a camper stove in case of emergency.) Oil, coal, gas and bottled gas are used for heating in some properties in the village.

The water and sewage are supplied by two separate companies – Bristol Water and Wessex Water respectively.

There is no cable in the village but TV is available through Freeview and satellite.

There is broadband but speeds vary according to location.

The local authority for most residents is North Somerset Council which is responsible for education, social services, refuse collection etc.  Council tax information can be found at www.n-somerset.gov.uk
